Hosting reviews? GoDaddy, Netfirms, Yahoo, etc…?

January 31st, 2010 | by admin |

I’ve been unable to find a reliable website with credible hosting reviews. Here’s what I’m looking for:

1- multiple domains
2- low monthly prices (under 10 USD per month)
3- no annual commitments
4- responsive customer service
5- no push marketing strategy (I currently use GoDaddy, and they push like nothing I’ve ever seen before)
6- ease-of-use (Yahoo’s interface is extremely user-friendly)
7- 200gb of storage and 2000 gb of bandwidth (not asking a lot here)

So, what’s the deal here? HostGator seems like the obvious choice, but I think they use deceptive marketing practices, including the use of sister sites, such as Blue Host and Host Monster. Yahoo won’t allow me to use multiple domains with one hosting account. GoDaddy is reasonably priced, but the user-panel is extremely unfriendly and they use aggressive marketing strategies. Netfirms bills quarterly maintenance fees without annual contracts.

Once again… What’s the deal?

I would go with either Netfirms on their Advantage Plan:

or 1&1 Internet Hosting with their Business Paln:

I have used both for my clients and their for customer service have been reliable and responsive (and you really want that when your website is done and you need to get them fixed ASAP!). And you are right about GoDaddy.. they really do send out too much email marketing.
