Questions about reseller web hosting?

January 31st, 2010 | by admin |

I’m thinking of doing reseller web hosting, perhaps with HostGator. I understand that I pay a monthly fee for my account, and keep 100% of the profits made.

So, does this mean I don’t need any fancy equipment? Can I easily manage customer accounts and create domain names?

Also, what should I do for customer support? I can do it via e-mail, but I won’t be available 24/7.

Hello There!

A reseller hosting account is just that; space on a web server to create accounts. You won’t be able to create domains with it, for that you’d need to have a domain reseller account, such as enom.com. You will be able to manage your accounts by your "WHM" or web hosting manager… For support, you can do it by email, if your just starting you can have the emails forward to your phone and have a response time when you see them. I have a reseller account at hostfever.com, and love it. They helped me set up my site the whole way through… They will also get you hooked up with a complete billing system. You can order their reseller plans at http://hostfever.com/reseller.html and use coupon code: 20OFF09 to get 20% off your first order. Hoped this helped. (BTW don’t listen to what people say, avoid HostGator at all costs they took my site down because my clients used too much space)… Go with HostFever. :)
